I entered Shepherds Bush Empire for the first time in almost two years for a great lineup of prog and alternative rock music. First up we had Semer Vera, a rock trio with some progressive and psych leanings who i’d actually photographed 18 months previously at my local pub – so I was eager to see how they had progressed over lockdown.
These guys put on an awesome show to really set the mood for the day with some hard, fast, and funky basslines from Joe Bodsworth as he walked the stage as he owned it. Ben on vocals & guitar was less mobile but his performance was no less powerful or captivating as he delivered some fantastic vocals and guitar work, while Max on drums drove the whole show along with his relentless, powerful percussion. Definitely a band to watch, go catch them live if you can!
