Sarpa Salpa Live at the Craufurd Arms

Sarpa Salpa are a indie band drawing inspiration from the likes of Foals, Tame Impala & Friendly Fires. Their upbeat sound instantly hooks you in, with strong, danceable rhythms.

Even though they were the first act on, Sarpa Salpa had a good sized crowd, who were clearly enjoying the catchy rhythms and synth infused indie. The strong bass lines throughout the evening kept the momentum going. Vocally reminiscent of Eliza and the Bear (to my ears, anyway), the lyrics bring a greater depth to their sound that was refreshing to hear.

Sarpa Salpa have been getting airplay on radio 6 music and radio 1, and this band’s joy of being on stage really helped to kick the night’s music off with a bang.
