Lady Bird, the punk trio from Kent, signed to the Slaves label Girl Fight came on stage shortly after Para Fiction to a crowd obviously eager to see the band perform. The crowd grew around me at the front, the atmosphere became more electric. Even for a sleepy sunday night in Milton Keynes the Craufurd Arms had a great crowd.
The band obviously know how to entertain a crowd – social commentary, humourous quips and stories including one on how they wanted to introduce the organ into the set – and not forgetting the songs that got the crowd singing along (and they seemed to know all the words to the songs!) with cracking riffs and drumming keeping everything moving along at breakneck speed. All in all, a great end to a night of high energy music.
