English Teacher are an Alternative band that mix the spoken word with some fantastic indie vibes with fantastic effect. Swirling synths swept through the main stage at Bedford Esquires, as some fantastic bass and percussion drove the tracks on with substance and style, fusing elements of psych and punk with great effect. Lyrically Lily Fontaine falls somewhere between Kate Tempest and Ellie from Wolf Alice and bought meaning and depth to the whole proceeding – layered, subtle, and the not so subtle all fused together into one beautiful whole. Here’s a band I’ll definitely be looking forward to seeing again!
