Craufurd Unplugged Live November 2022

I arrived at The Craufurd Arms on Wednesday night ready for a night of music from local talent Chloe Wilson, Soulbaby, and Pip Akers. Despite it being the same night that England played Wales in the world cup a decent crowd gathered to watch these local artists perform on the bar stage.

First up Chloe Wilson treated us to some melodic riffs on her guitar paired with delightfully emotive, slightly husky vocals that drew on a variety of genres to deliver a perfect opening to the evening.

Next up Soulbaby really lived up to the name, with some powerful, soulful vocals that filled the Craufurd with both power and emotion that were delivered with heart and personality that allowed you to become absorbed within the music, believing in every word.

Finally up Pip Akers took to the stage and took her place behind the keyboard with some fun banter with the audience, before proceeding to treat us to a set of powerful ballads that could capture the heart of almost any individual.

The evening ended with me wanting more, the quality of the performances meant the whole evening had flown by and left me feeling proud of the talent coming out of our little city.
