Soon after releasing her new single and improvised music video (shot in London during her last visit to the UK), Biianco is back – more confident and self assured while retaining the emotions that make her songs so powerful.
Taking the stage between her Keyboard and drum machine, the driving rhythms soon get the crowd moving, and emotion slowly seems to seep out of every pore of Gabby’s being, each song becoming more powerful and emotive than the last.
No dancers on this occasion, but that’s not really a problem, Biianco builds patterns and rhythms, her instruments becoming an extension of her dance routines, her voice another instrument to add texture to the performance.
I truly believe Biianco is an inspirational figure, her music continues to explore the themes of equality and empowerment, love and loss that made Get Up so powerful and moving and personally I can’t wait to see where she goes next with her music and performance. If you ever get the chance to see Biianco live just go. It will be the best decision you’ve made musically that year and you may just come out with your views on life challenged.
