AA Williams and her band took to the stage, with the audience waiting with obvious anticipation for the show to start. And it’s easy to understand why. Her debut album was dark and beautiful, and her latest release As The Moon Rests delves deeper into the artists psyche, giving us a hugely moving and introspective journey of sweeping soundscapes. And all this translates beautifully to the stage. A dramatically backlit lightshow amplified the mood (and definately gave me a few challenges with my photography!) and The Craufurd Arms simply crackled with the kind of energy you get with a progressive crowd as the band bought the powerfully atmospheric music to life in a way that was meaningful and beautiful with stunning attention to detail throughout.
